FENG CHEN WANG, GENERAL IDEA and CARLOS CAMPOS: Three brands you need to know.

These days fashion brands come and go like cinnamon Pop-Tarts. With the amount of new brands that pop up each year it's become difficult to determine the real talent from the shooting stars. Here are three brands you need to know.

FENG CHEN WANG: This London based label founded by designer Fengchen Wang in 2015, after graduating from the Royal College of Arts. Wang made her NYFW debut during the Spring/Summer 16' season via the VFiles runway show. Nominated for a LVMH prize in February 2016 Feng Chen Wang has been worn by Rihanna and M.I.A.

GENERAL IDEA: Based in Seoul, South Korea and founded in 2004 by designer Bumsuk Choi, General Idea is a regular during NYFW. Stocked by some of the world's leading online retailers including Farfetch and Lyst, General Idea has caught the attention of celebrities and industry insiders alike.

CARLOS CAMPOS: Carlos Campos founded his namesake line in 2007. Based in New York Campos was awarded the FGI Rising Star Award in 2009 and was a 2011 CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund finalist. Campos has quickly become a must see during New York Fashion Week: Men's.

On Saturday night, Kanye West took to Twitter to announce an open casting call for his upcoming show during New York Fashion Week. West had a few specific requests- he was seeking “multiracial women only” and advised hopefuls to show up makeup-free stating, “come as you are.”

The casting took place in a busy studio in West Chelsea Sunday morning where a legion of New York beauties showed up and waited in a line that stretched for several blocks by 11am. Groups were taken into the studio and asked to provide basic details including their race and Nationality. Some girls fumbled over their own ethnicity, and a few straight up lied about their heritage in an attempt to be selected for one of the coveted positions. A photographer then snapped a few photographs and sent the ladies on their way. The atmosphere was empowering, energetic and competitive. Supermodel friend Gigi Hadid made an appearance and famed make-up artist Pat McGrath was seen running in and out at the audition site.

While the location and time of the show has not yet been released, West has been kind enough to announce he will show Sept 7th, the unofficial first day of NYFW. West received a ton of backlash when he debuted Yeezy Season 3 at Madison Square Garden without any formal announcement, creating scheduling conflicts for designers and reporters. West has used his previous shows as a platform to showcase new music and had over 1000 models in his Season 3 show. Ever the multi-takser Kanye kicked off the first of two performances of his Life of Pablo tour on Monday night at Madison Square Garden. While we are still unsure of what West will do for Yeezy Season 4, it is sure to be a spectacle full of New York's finest.
