For Fall/Winter 2017 Laurence Chandler and Joshua Cooper of Rochambeau went to old New York. Working with art pop king Mark Mothersbaugh, this collection recalled a time when The Ramones ruled the downtown scene and 315 Bowery the epicenter of the Punk movement. Dancers wearing paint dripped ski masks and rompers frolicked side stage during the as the models walked the runway. Sitting front row were Latin superstar J Balvin and actor Colton Haynes and artists Young Paris and Jimi Lucid. Front row staple Luka Sabbat was also in attendance.
The silhouette was oversized from look one. A floor length corduroy duster jacket hit the runway and set the tone of the collection. Bold stripes and fish net accents made strong statements for Fall 2017. Models donned mesh masks with safety pin embellishments and dripped paint. Mixing texture and bold color ways added to the rebellious inspiration of the collection. Waist cropped button-ups with bold shoulders modernized the look while balancing the baggy fit trousers. This season was a fearless progression for Rochambeau, filled with angst, excitement and energy.
