In seasons past designer Bumsuk Choi has delivered especially dark and moody collections for the Korean label General Idea. Thus, it was a pleasant surprise to see a shifting of the tides for the Spring/Summer 2018. Choi delivered a vibrant collection of subtle color blocking, ethnic accents, and bold stripes creating a joyful narrative for the next summer season. Paisley bandana prints made several statements on the runway, strong enough for the pickiest fashionphile.
The designer also made a statement about fashion in the age of social media with several garments baring his heartfelt sentiment NO POST. Is it time for us to put our phones down? Maybe. Just not likely during fashion week.
